| | As of July 2007, Project Baobab has -Taught over 800 young women through Life Skills and/or Entrepreneurial Skills courses -Funded more than 300 new business ventures, approximately half of which remain operational -In the 2006-2007 academic year, educated 313 women and given 67 grants -Trained over 20 teachers in the Project Baobab curriculum and distributed up-to-date training manuals to each teacher and current student -Established operations in 20 schools and communities: 9 Project baobab, 11 Project Baobab partnered with Technoserve -Taught 25 women prisoners a modified version of the Baobab curriculum in the largest women's prison (Lang'ata) in Kenya near the Kibera slum area -Partnered with Technoserve International to begin 14 business clubs within our 11 partnership sites |
