| | As of December 2008, Project Baobab has -Taught over 1000 young women through Life Skills and/or Entrepreneurial Skills courses -Funded more than 300 new business ventures, approximately half of which remain operational -Trained over 20 teachers in the Project Baobab curriculum and distributed up-to-date training manuals to each teacher and current student -Established operations in 20 schools and communities: 9 Project baobab, 11 Project Baobab partnered with Technoserve -Taught 25 women prisoners a modified version of the Baobab curriculum in the largest women's prison (Lang'ata) in Kenya near the Kibera slum area -In 2008, 157 women graduated and 47 graduates received business grants - Currently, Project Baobab is operating in 5 communities: Meru, Githunguri, Naivasha, Mai, Mahiu and Olooseos. |
